When working with Google AdWords it is always important to keep on top of the latest Developments that Google make to the platform and this is something that I like to pride myself in doing, not only for my own benefits to for those of my clients. So you can imagine how surprised I was to see something had completely passed me by; Google now appear to be showing search query data of keywords that have NOT received any clicks.
Before I go on, let me thank Kim Clinkunbroomer, over at AdWords Help Experts for her excellent post and pointing this great bit of news out to me http://www.adwordshelpexperts.com/2010/05/adwords-shares-search-query-data-for-keywords-that-did-not-result-in-a-click/.
For those that use the Search Query data a lot (if not, you really should be, read my post “Save Money on your Google AdWords with the Search Query Performance Report“) you will know that in previous reports, data was only given about Broad and Phrase terms if your Ad Text had been clicked, which obviously helped reduce CTR and Costs and increase your Quality Score. But what we didn’t know is the keywords for those keywords in which the ads had not been clicked and personally this has always frustrated me.
Now it seems that Google is supplying that data, have a look below. Obviously I have blanked out any sensitive data.
Now, I don’t know if this is all the data, remembering the Search Query data from the past, Google may not be giving all the information away straight away and for some reason they have not announced this on their blog. This is a surprise, as far as i’m concerned this is something to shout about, loudly. Come on Google let us know what your up to here and if showing all the data is the plan, well done.
Thanks again to Kim.
